Rolling out of bed and experiencing back pain each morning is a negative experience that roughly 80% of adults experience at some point in their lives. When experiencing this type of pain, the first thing that many people will resort to is making an appointment to visit a doctor or a chiropractor. Many time, doctors will turn to muscle relaxers or pain killers to try to ease their patient’s pain. Could there be another place to turn before looking for medications?
A new study shows that certain yoga practices, therapeutic and restorative styles, will ease lower back pains. Many doctors who do not commonly turn to prescribing medicines will provide the patient with exercises to work out their back pains.
“Scott Duke, D.C., a sports chiropractor in New York City who was not involved in the study, says he’s not surprised by the results. “I recommend flexibility exercises to every single lower back pain patient I have,” he says. “Therapeutic stretching combined with relaxation and deep breathing absolutely helps low back pain.”"
